Toilet roll seems simple enough — however there are more toilet tissue systems out there than most people realise, and picking the right one can save your business time, money, and a fair few awkward phone calls to reception asking where the spare rolls are kept. Here’s your guide to what’s what.

Standard Toilet Rolls
The classic choice — conventional 2-ply rolls in packs of 36, in either 200 or 320 sheets per roll. Simple, affordable, and compatible with a Single Toilet Roll Holder. Best for low-footfall washrooms like small offices or staff toilets where big systems are overkill.

Mini Jumbo

Micro Jumbo & Coreless Rolls
A more compact, coreless design that reduces waste (no cardboard tube left behind) while still offering solid capacity — a good middle ground between standard and full jumbo systems.

Bulk Pack Toilet Tissue
Individual folded sheets rather than a roll, dispensed on demand. These need a specific Bulk Pack Toilet Tissue Dispenser and are popular in environments where portion control and hygiene are a priority.

Centrepull, Katrin Corematic & Tork Corematic Systems

Luxury Quilted Rolls
Sometimes it’s not about capacity at all — if you want to make an impression in a client-facing washroom, a soft, quilted 2-ply roll is the way to go.

Quick tips before you choose:

  • Match your roll size to your dispenser — not all “jumbo” rolls are the same core size, so double-check before ordering
  • Higher footfall = bigger roll capacity, to cut down on refill visits
  • Coreless and corematic systems reduce waste but usually require their specific matching dispenser
